New Photographs

2005-08-24 - 10:41 p.m.

We interrupt this travelogue to bring you--photographs!

Yes, I finally got arsed to go through my entire backlog. I have over undone but publishable 20 shots. I didn't know it'd gotten that bad. It's sorta like cleaning your apartment/house, or magically finding 689 spams for Cialis, wang growth, and equity optioning.

Anyway.

The Oracle, 2

Comment: It'd been 7 or 8 hours of driving. Dark. In rural Michigan. In front of a house I'd never been to. Naturally my first thought was to photograph cool looking shit. There were a few dogs located near a huge barn, tied to the ground underneath a glowing green light. One of the dogs buggered off while the other one just sat there, looking at me. It had the same feeling as 'The Oracle' did--albeit without the completely random stray cat making the photograph. So I shot it.

I'd later get bitten by that dog. It's all good, though.

Detroit at 4am

Comment: Jesus and Buddha, this brings me back. It was 2 years ago or so. Dorknoodle and I had just gotten back from doing a shoot of the outside of the Ford Rouge plant. It was around 4, we weren't really tired, and I decided to do some semi-posed shots. Later on I thought nothing came out--but somehow I didn't see this one.

Damn but that is a sly picture of Dork, and you know how often I give myself credit.

Car Plant, Absinthe Flavored

Comment: And this was inside..er...some random car plant. Dork's engineer friend, Mr. Perfect, took me into the bowels of that thing one overcast day. I felt so clever, using my clipboard to hide my cam. I'd thought the trip had mostly been a bust due to the terrible lighting conditions (for a camera) and not being able to stand around much. But somehow I missed this.

This one is all angle and contour.

And that's it for now. More later, in terms of the trip and my return to the world of being responsible and working. Not having to do shit with monkeys, true, but still working.
