I'm in a Super Target. Emily is talking about finding a suggested deep conditioner. I marvel at how three beers can make every component of my life seem distant and digest-worthy. It is a rare moment of clarity. Searching for hair care products dampens the signal. Noise creeps back in. I'm left at baseline, a steady state of working, drinking, socializing, more drinking, and the occasional bout of writing.
