1) Space was too small for our energetic toddler;

2) Space was too damned hot in the summer.

A week and a half ago, I found out that our bedroom was infested with bedbugs.

So, modified reasons:

1) Getting away from tick-like parasites;

2) There is no need for a 2.

The new neighborhood isn't bad. We moved in next door to a hippie/local farms sort. They have a kid a little younger than Garion, so about 19 months. The neighbors are a good sociocultural mixture. It's not hip and urban (which is fine). It's not ghetto trash and roving bands of obnoxious children (which is great). It's also not white suburbia (which is fine). Just a simple neighborhood in a middle-class part of town.

Unpacking sucks. Julia injured herself at trampoline class today, so it made most things suck. I've been in a shitty mood all day because of wrangling our son, her wanting to do one more big project when she said she wasn't going to, very late dinner I ended up ordering out for, things of that nature.

So I interview for a professor position in a Nutritional Sciences department about a week ago (2 days after we found out about the bed bugs). It went very well. I should hear in about 2-3 weeks if it goes through.
