The Lighthouse, She (Poem)

2005-02-11 - 9:40 p.m.

Her mouth was a lighthouse,
Compelling boat and ship,
To rock out near her shoals,
Busted black in board fragments.

Twin breasts like coral sirens,
Moonlight machetes,
Her breath the wind,
Shredding all who felt the cold.

She'd had more seamen pass through her,
Than the Suez Canal.

The miser maid,
Black tinsel intestines,
Ocean skin crashing,
Noise enough to drown the lies.

Hydra of the cliff face,
Every night a different voice,
But the same message,
Vaguely.

Your porch is a lumber yard,
Your mind a metal melody,
Your love another card,
In a deck of tragedy.
