Fred and Sada's wedding aftermath 2009-09-07 - 2:46 p.m. 
Big Fat Albanian Wedding over. Drank wine, beer, and then was given shots of whiskey at traditional 'men sitting down and throwing money at groom that goes to band' table. Ate pre-dinner chicken kabobs, lamb appetizers, spinach baklava type things, jumbo chilled shrimp with cocktail sauce. At dinner, ate part of large salad, pasta with cream sauce, main course of giant double baked potato and steak, then for dessert a chocolate tort creature with fudge center. Rehearsal dinner on Saturday was much the same. I feel fat. Plan for today has no real form. Want to go over to Nicholas' place. The combination of WASP and Albanian family deluge is a lot for this writer, gentle reader. Mostly want to listen to God Speed You Black Emperor or some really old, really slow jazz while sitting in a smoky bar and sipping a mojito. So far the vacation has been pleasant, though. |
