Job rejection and soup with Mom by the beach 2002-06-25 - 6:50 p.m. 
I didn't get the job. I feel more disappointed than I thought I would. The guy was very nice about it, said I got farther than most. No more prospects except for a man asking me if I could "drop by" his office in Illinois. It will all end in the future somehow.I had a lovely early evening dinner with my mom at a restaurant by the ocean up in Santa Monica. Part of me felt bad not asking my friend at the Starbuck's up on 15th if I could visit, but I assumed she wouldn't be off shift. The pina colada was gorgeous and very tasty, with flakes of coconut adding a rough, enhancing taste and texture. I couldn't taste the Captain until the end. Mom and I split some coconut shrimp and I had a bowl of clam chowder. Except for the old hags in back of me, it was a lovely time. I also consulted with someone about surgery. They have discount specials. Driving through the canyon was really nice. Beautiful and green. I wish I could live in it or somewhere like it.
